Early Personal Life, Family, and Formal Bible College Education
- Born again at age nine and called to Christian service as a young man
- Raised in a loving Christian home in a small southern town (USA), an active member of a local church, and a lover of God’s Word since childhood
- Received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit while alone seeking the Lord at age 19, while working on the Mississippi River for a summer job after high school and before college
- A student at Liberty Bible College with a typical Bible college curriculum and emphasis on foreign missions
- Married in 1976 and have three children and six grandchildren, all growing in the grace of God
Secular Occupations
- Built commercial buildings throughout the southeastern USA as a design-build manager for two general contractors before earning my own license as a design-build contractor and continuing to build and develop commercial properties
- Founded and operated a successful environmental waste management and materials handling company, the first of its kind in the state of Mississippi
- Worked as a private contractor for a developer in Middle Tennessee, followed by working as the CEO of a successful start-up company in East Tennessee, and as the managing partner in another
Followed the Call to Full-time Christian Ministry
- Called out of secular work at age 40 to begin full-time ministry in the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Recognized and ordained by our local church in Mississippi, as well as recognized and ordained as a local pastor by a prominent local church in Santiago, Chile
- Led by the Holy Spirit to move our family to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1997; began with only $100 and didn’t know anyone there or their language or have any specific direction (Almost everyone back home thought I was crazy simply because I listened to the Lord and believed Him enough to act on what He said.)
- God took over our family immediately upon my complete surrender, miraculously leading the way in a story for the record books.
- God gave us a beautiful apartment there and showed me that He would use me primarily in the church, teaching and preaching His word to local church leaders, calling them out of religious forms, pomp, and programs and into an authentic walk with God, leading to spiritual maturity for the whole body.
Ministry Growth and Expansion
- Within weeks, preached in Buenos Aires; within months, began speaking weekly in local churches throughout southern Chile with the help of a team of godly men that God had prepared for our ministry there
- Operated our ministry team in South America for approximately seven years; organized and led three-day, city-wide evangelical pastor/leader seminars, sometimes speaking in several churches of various denominations each week (including throughout Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Chile, with extensive travel in Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, and Guatemala in Central America)
- In fewer than a dozen years, God sent us across four continents doing more of the same, including to the body of Christ under the duress of persecution.
- Keynote speaker for various pastors’ associations as well as regional and national pastor/leader conferences in South America, the Middle East, and South Asia; guest speaker in various Bible seminaries in South America
- Keynote speaker for two consecutive years at the famed Sialkot Convention, founded by Praying (John) Hyde in 1904 (For most of those years, it has been the largest annual gathering of Christians in Pakistan.)
- Spoke in various churches, church conferences, and other Christian gatherings in the USA, England, Scotland, Spain, and Sri Lanka
- Hosted a debate about the Divinity of Jesus Christ at the University of Glasgow between the late Dr. Anis Shorrosh and Shabir Ally (Both were world-renowned debate scholars for Christianity and Islam)
- Organized and led the first pastors’ convocation for Iraqi church leaders after the fall of Saddam Hussein; organized and hosted a week-long leadership meeting and fellowship reunion for pastors in a secure location in Jerash, Jordan, with participants from Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq
- Founded an ongoing mobile Bible school for small-village pastors in Andhra Pradesh, India; currently teach online to pastors and congregations in South Asia and South America
Serving as Local Church Pastor (My primary call is to speak to the larger body of Christ, not to pastor a local church.)
- Served as lead elder/pastor/teacher in one house church, one established church, and one local church start-up, all in the USA (4 years)
- Served as pastor/teacher in one established church in Chile, SA
Christian Social Work Assistance
- In cooperation with Love and Compassion Ministries of London, UK, helped provide clean water wells and built local church buildings in poor, remote villages in India
- Led short-term foreign mission teams from the USA into Latin America, including one medical mission
TV and Radio Broadcasts
- Produced approximately 50 television broadcasts shown on DirecTV nationwide in the USA, and approximately 100 additional broadcasts for a regional Christian TV network in the southwastern United States
- Produced “Christianity in Conflict,” a local radio program highlighting issues within and against the Christian community
Writing and Publishing
- Wrote articles for a leading Latin American Christian magazine and regularly provided teaching materials for hundreds of local church pastors in Chile, SA
- In 2003, wrote and published a Biblically-sound, prophetically-oriented message in book form addressing the larger body of Christ in America, a message that has been unfolding for twenty years
- Currently writes and publishes The Last Days Times, a Christian publication of the times we live in, with distribution across America
In summary:
These are only some of the highlights of our faith journey, of which “the half has never been told.”
We have absolutely nothing to boast about except that the mercy, grace, forgiveness, and favor of God are evident despite our many weaknesses. We look forward to the many things God has in store as we continue to allow Him to be glorified through us by faith.
We always want to acknowledge the many who have helped us. After that initial season on our own, the Lord began to bring fellow believers alongside us who helped us through much prayer, encouragement, and financial support, for which we are forever grateful. A few are still with us today.
